Wolf’s Birthday , Diane’s Holiday 18th February 2006
It was a great weekend. Happy birthday Wolf hope it was all you wanted. Nice to meet everyone. If you ever need a dive partner/buddy, look me up! My email address is jrhslick@yahoo.com John Hungerford It was my first live aboard dive trip and the first time that I dived for over a year so I was a little bit nervous prior to embarking on the trip. Those concerns were quickly dissipated mainly due to the approachability of the crew and the friendliness of our fellow divers. Even when I encountered problems with my regulator I did not feel overwhelmed and despite having to "buddy breathe" for the first time in a real emergency situation, I would have no qualms about embarking on another trip of its kind. A great time was had by all! After stopping by the dive centre at 2:30 on Friday to pick up the gear & Roman on Friday and a slight detour via Wynyard to pick up Peter we set off from Sydney, the first issue was navigating a massively overloaded Land Cruiser through suburban Sydney although this was soon the least of our worries as we managed to get lost somewhere near Tarren Point – oops sack the navigator. After much pissing around and generally irritating other traffic we managed to find the Princes highway for the lovely drive south. We finally arrived in the Husky pub at around 6:30 pm to find Rupert nursing a Schooner and reading his book. Somehow inevitable after two schooners the group of us had an attack of the munchies, although with a 45 minute wait for the food by the time it had arrived Richard and the majority of the rest of the group had too. A wonderful first time live aboard experience. After some initial hiccups on my first few dives, I put into practice the calm and steady advice of the ‘underwater Yoda’, Richard. By the end I had conquered my premature ascension problems by keeping myself vertical. A massive highlight was the sea dragon on the last dive. Thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent hospitality of the crew, especially the scrumptious meals and the onboard entertainment, Sea Hunt. Anthony Gordon
The Manly Marfia arrived with staff, and Sav Blanc. They saw, they conquered but alas no Grey Nurses were sighted. What a wonderful weekend away, sensational weather, terrific tucker, we’ll be back for more, with Lloyd Bridges. Carolyn Sharples. Well… what a lovely holiday with Mick and Lynn. Special things being, first Weedy Sea Dragon, first rare Robust Ghost pipefish, and diving with wonderful Warren. Who took us to all the secret places…!?! Just hope the photos turn out, off to one of Sue’s luscious lunches. Diver Di.
A wonderful experience above and below the water! I thoroughly enjoyed the trip on Ocean Trek. The water was calm, the sun was out and everyone was in good spirits for my first on-board experience and trip to Jervis Bay. Highlights included cuttlefish, bull rays, horn sharks, wobbegongs, grey nurse shark, robust ghost pipefish, red Indian fish and an eastern blue devil. Wonderful swim throughs and caves. Thanks to the wonderful crew and divers from Dive Centre Manly! Great weekend!!! First time on a live aboard dive trip and first time to Jervis Bay. Fantastic weather, clear diving conditions and some amazing sealift sighted. Thankyou to all the staff who were extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks too to Sue for all the fantastic food. Until next time… Rupert First time for me here in Jervis Bay. Very nice weather, but the water was sooo freezing. I've been 5 weeks ago up in Cairns so I had there 29 . Very nice dive spots with lots offish in the water. I never seen so many stingrays in one spot like here. The beds were to small for me, I am 1.90m, but only 2 nights. The food was good and the stuff friendly. Fortunately I've seen at the last dive still some sharks. Thanks maybe til next time. Roman == Great time, first time diving after getting my certification.. Thanks Richard, thanks the Cast and crew of the ole Trek. Oh, and thanks Sea Hunt for starting it all. See you next time, Anthony K.
