"I Forgot My Weight!!"

4th April 2008

Friday night was calm, the travelling was good,

We boarded the boat, we started on the food.

The night was peaceful, aside from the snores,

We arose to decide where to dive around shores.

The first dive was good, the second was great.

And then came the first cry, "I forgot my weight"

You’d think after one cry, there would be no more

But with these people on board, you couldn’t be sure.

Somehow we made it through the rest of the dayhind

With no more weight-less delay.

But after a sleep, the problem returned

And as day follows night, more weights were spurned.

Once again, though the dives were great,

You could not ignore the cry…. "I forgot my weight!!!"

This has been a great weekend for me as I have not had to lug tanks and equipment for miles and miles over sand. Many thanks to Sharon, Pat and everyone else for looking after my sweetheart.

Tankboy

I am sure that someone snuck up behind me, undid my belt and put it back in my tub. If I find out who… Had another great weekend, great food, great company, great dives. 20 degrees, 10-15m viz, tons of schooling fish, weedy dragons, dolphins on the bow. Looking forward to the next time. (I apologise for anyone kept awake by the sound of a circular saw cutting slices off a telegraph pole.)

Ross.

It’s not just the great diving and food that keeps me coming back, it’s the dedication and commitment of all the staff to ensure that everyone has as safe and as enjoyable a time as they can. Well done guys!

Sean.

Diving was good food was good and the weather was great Jervis Bay is always good a good place to come and I think its gets better everytime I come back. I really like the set up of the boat and I'm glad I came.

Being rocked to sleep is seriously underated! Great diving, eating and company. A wonderful weekend for all of us!

Oh my god, dry suits do work!!! After 4 dives in a wet suit and much shivering and shaking trying to drink tea handed to me by my favourite tank boy I tried a dry suit and came up warm and toasty. Fabulous. Why Pat made me stand on my head underwater I have yet to work out. Had a wonderful time. So many fish to see and weedy sea dragons aplenty. Thanks to Pat and Sharon for looking after me underthewater and tank boy for taking fabulous care of my out of the water.

The best liveaboard diving on the Coast by far …..the operation is friendly, well organised, professional and lots of fun…..the dives were enjoyable and varied , great to see so many seadragons and cuttlefish… I look forward to returning to dive the north side and outside the bay next time if the weather permits, but another few days around Bowen Island would also be great fun as so much to see….thanks to Mick and Lyn, as well as Pat for organising the Canberra crew to come down for a great weekend.

My first liveaboard and my first dive in Jervis Bay – what a great experience! Saw many things for the first time and had a ball despite the cold.

Look forward to the next trip J

Doubled my dive experience in possibly the best possible conditions. Sun good visibility. Saw a great selection of fish and terrain. Can’t wait to do some more diving. Good food and company.

Great food, great company and above all great diving. The last time I was on board, it was for Pat’s 50th birthday and I had an aboslute ball. I assumed that Ocean Trek and all her crew had gone out of their way for this momentus occasion. But no, this trip was just as fantastic with the dedicated crew going the extra mile everytime. After one dive, we were sunning ourselves on the top desk with hot drinks and muffins hot out of the oven, and I was feeling particularly luck and rich. I said "I wonder what the poor people are doing" and someone quick as a wink said "shore diving". Still the best diving around, Sandie

When my dive-buddy Sandie waxed lyrical about her experience on OceanTrek, I let her twist my arm into signing up for a one-off treat. As I thrifty diver, I thought I could live without a warm-water hose and fresh towels, hot drinks after a dive, deck ready to lend a hand or give a newbie advice, and fabulous meals and a great crowd to dive with….alas, it was even better than anticipated and I fear I may be addicted. Lyn, Mick and the crew ran a great weekend, and it was great to get some intensive dive experience and see some wildlife I’ve never seen before, pratice navigation and photgraphy. And somehow, the value for money, the weekend worked out per dive much better than some of my other dive trips – I’ll be back!

ps thankyou Sean for the Jekyll DVD
