PADI Congratulations

1st June 2008

What a trip!!! With Lyn and Mick and a great master chef on board it was always going to be good. Add Tricky, Johno, and a great group of divers and some very good diving, it just got better. Hope to see you all again soon. Richard.

20 years and it seems like yesterday that Logan and I were waiting with anticipation outside the PADI College in Elizabeth Street to learn if we had been successful in our efforts to become diving instructors. Well 20 years on, 1000 plus students 6000 dives, 500,000 km travelled and here we are again round the table chatting like excited teenagers about the last dive, who said that when you become an instructor you no longer dive for fun. What a life it’s been and if I did it all over again I would not change a thing, and guess what there’s more!! Heres to the next 20 years! Tricky

Thanks to Tricky and Johno for organising a great way to celebrate our 20 years of PADI membership, and to Johno for pulling a few strings at PADI to arrange for our certificates. In the last 20 years I’ve made some great friends, done some fantastic diving, visited some exciting places and enjoyed every minute of it. Logan

Wow! Yes, what a trip! I was not a 20 years group but thanks to Johno, tagged along, I can say that I was the one enjoyed mostly this trip! Thanks to you all the team, met new friends and especially to Lyn, Mick and great chef Carly for taking care of us. See you all soon! Young Hee

This was a fantastic concept to gather the 1988 PADI graduates together and I was proud to host the venue. The gathering was a fun time, and a time to reflect on our 20 years of working together in the diving industry. …but most of all ,the fun times teaching and diving Most of those on board "cut their teeth" in Jervis Bay,so there is this strong bond not only in this group but alos to this diving araea.

What we also need to mention was those who were unable to come along on this reunion and celebration .Chris Tangrdei [who I did my Divemaster Training with] and Steve Kim ,my Korean brother; were unable to come along, we three did our instructor Training togther and then went on to do our Course Director training , Garry Sims who went to the same schoole as me back in Wentworthville, was missed by all

When you look at the list of 1988 anniversary names out of the 10 listed there are 6 course directors……must have been something in the water that year

I also want to add my thanks to Tricky and John for organising this weekend.

As usual Ocean Trek lived up to it’s high standard of food, organisation, diving and fun. It was a great group of people and a brilliant weekend. Brent and Wendy.

Wonderful Ocean Trek diving in great visibility and calm seas, outstanding group of PADI professionals, divers and great friends. Thanks to Lyn, Mick & Carly for their fantastic hospitality. It was wonderful to catch up with so many old friends and in the usual liveaboard tradition make some new friends. Jervis Bay wildlife once again exceeded expectations, can’t wait for our 25th anniversary. Johno

Yep what can one say-to-say thanks for an amazing weekend of diving with some of the modern legends of Australian Diving? Thanks guys and gals, and to our hosts Lyn and Mick for whom it was a triple celebration, 15 years of marriage, 20 years of PADI membership (Lyn) and 10 years for Ocean Trek Diving Resort…Long Live Ocean Shrek.
