Australia Day 2009
What a wonderful way to spend my very first Australia Day—aboard the Ocean Trek in Jervis Bay! Wonderful people, great diving…an amazing experience. Sunny weather, co-operative fish life and a great crew. 10 dives in three days and cuisine de Carly on return. Best fishes to everyone! What an excellent way to finish up my summer holidays – 3 days and 10 excellent dives! By the last day all three of our buddy team were seeing the BIG ones: Port Jacksons, Bull Rays, Eagle Rays, and Wobbies as well as LOADS of octopi, weedy seadragons and nudibranchs. Thanks for a fantastically well run weekend guys! Octopusastic! Have never seen this many in my life and they were all sitting there waiting to be photographed! Loved the baby Port Jacksons and baby rays and weedy sea dragons galore so even I managed to find one! Great weekend. Where ever you look this place is fabulous. Above the sea there arre golden beaches fringed with trees with black cockatoos and wedge tail eagles circling in the sky; below water endless fish life. Favourate moments include the mini sharks at the nursery and the octopuses garden. The huge bull ray and glimps of a nurse shark were also special. Very enjoyable trip …..hope to be back soon. Judy: If one more person sings happy birthday to me this weekend I will definitely scream, however the birthday candles in the dessert were a nice touch. Perpendicular Point has some fab topography and fantastic diving - we were very fortunate the weather allowed us to visit it this trip. Thanks to Lyn, Mick and the crew for always professional hosting, great food and good fun all round. Makes me proud to be an Aussie on such a top-class weekend. Here is to a multi cultural Oz Day – Brilliant – Many thanks to the hard working crew and Mick & Lynn. Pretty lucky with the weather. Lots of new diving experiences and learning curves. Great company – especially ladies morning swims and evening jumps. Loved my seahorse!! So much to see and enjoy. Jude Another great Ocean Trek weekend – JB, as usual, came up with the marine life and Mick, Lynn and the crew provided exellent food and looked after us very well in general. The spiders, scallops, nudibranchs and sharks are worth coming back for any time.
