The dive shop was only opened this year and we chose Ocean Trek in Jervis Bay, NSW as the destination for our first trip away from the unpredictable waters of Melbourne. For the entire week the 13 adventurous divers, some with only a handful of previous dives, were treated to flat 17C water, good visibility, sunny days and too much food.

Here are some thoughts direct from the nitrogen soaked brains of those divers:

Back again for a third trip but this time with our own group, as co-hosts with Tony. Lyn, Mick, Cookie Sue and Woz provided their usual high quality service, whilst Jervis Bay provided the fantastic dive sites. Once again crew, you haven’t failed to impress us and it is this everlasting impression that brought us here for our first dive trip from the shop. This is the beginning of an ongoing relationship that hopefully will see us back again and again. Thanks again – you guys rock !!! Mike & Rita

Well another trip and not the last….dives food sun etc….so much to take in..I think all the guys had a great time…I got to take some great shots..red indian fish….luck….to much to say again….i will be back next year and I think a few from this trip will be back….cant thank you guys enough…..you are all great guys..nice people……nice nice and nice…thanks once again to all and you all take care..till next year. What a fantastic trip, for the beginner and the more experienced diver, the crew looked after us too well, with their great cooking, dive experience and local knowledge of dive sites and marine animals. The boat seems to have a fantastic relaxed atmosphere whether you were sunbaking on the top deck, diving 20m down, jumping off ledges, exploring caves, playing poker or having that afternoon nap. I think it was nice to wake up of a morning with the smell of the salty sea and the view of the bay on the back deck. The rocking of the boat upset my tummy a bit but without that it’s not living the ocean way. I would like to thank Lyn, Mick, Warren and Cookie Sue for a really great diving experience. Liam

After getting my open water certification earlier on this year, I’ve had a good year with a trip to Bali where I dived, and now here at Jervis Bay where we were spoiled too much! I definitely want to return in the near future.. any chance I come across to get away from the unpredictable and usually cold waters of Victoria I’ll take! Everyone on the boat has such a good nature and is like one big family.. especially when we give Cookie Sue a hug after getting back from our dive. Thanks for the unbelievably enjoyable trip and I hope to see everyone again soon. Ashleigh

Great trip and the best dive was where I got to 150m for 85 minutes (yes, you heard right!!!) My Mares’ NEMO dive watch (more quality equipment from Absolutely Scuba…..TONY!!!) looked after me well O_o Dwayne

Absolutely marvellous week on board OceanTrek. My best experience was doing a cave dive – which was a little scary at the opening, but that is all part of learning. A huge thanks to the crew and the other trekkers for helping me out during the trip and making this a fantastic experience. I had a few problems at times, but nothing fazed those with the experience and I learnt heaps from them. Would love to return again as I need to put on more weight !! and increase the dive numbers. Also, a huge thanks to Tony and Mike for arranging the trip and getting me here. Gary

It has been a wonderful trip as a beginner I only did 7 dives out of the 18, and one of them was a night dive which was quite eerie. I really enjoyed Weedy Valley with all the gorgeous Weedy Seadragons they were my favourite and the underwater spa in the Whore House was pretty good too. Sue over fed us on her great food, thanks for a great trip Mick and Lyn. Heidi
