Hunter’s Naked 100th Dive 25th September 2005
It was a grand final weekend. First the swans won, then the Tigers booked a grand final berth. Go the Tigers. But the grand finale was Hunters 100th naked dive. He records the water was cold and I`m not saying he`s small but…he made sure that the location of the jump emphasised his assets!! So swimmers in hand he stalled at the balcony edge, looking down at the blue green ocean. Confusion reigned, he knew that to satisfy his colleagues requirements and respect he must carry out the task in hand…the water was a frightening 15 degrees. Terror struck, but being the kind of a guy he was leapt from the safety and warmth of the boat. but neither elegant nor was the jump swift. His mind raced as the water approached, his manhood shrivelled at the mere thought of the impact and time stood still…..well for a couple of seconds anyway! As the impact beckoned, it was only then that Hunter had the most shattering thought..that maybe, just maybe this was a silly thing to do. At that moment in time, his big toe hit the water…………….boy this was going to be cold. And it was…….. There was an incident on day one when two members of the group decided it would be a good idea to cross dress for the next dive. Debbie was geared up thinking this wet suit went on easy must be because it was wet and Ian was struggling to get his wetsuit on. Upon checking Ian was in Debbies and suit and visa versa well at least it provided a few laughs. What was really scary was Ian’s hips fit debbies wetsuit, we suggested that he stop taking the osteogen. John did a bang up job of the navigation on each dive, but we did have fun when Ray decided that he needed to practise his buddy breathing ascent, this would be no hassle but since John was been used as a raft anchor with a constellation of divers hanging off EVERYTHING controlling the accent was a new experience for john. The in between dive entertainment continued with high dives off the upper deck. Apart from Hunter’s spectacular and daring naked dive into the freezing waters other brave souls practiced at being bobby corks being launched and landing in humorous manner. Fun and laughs all round were to be had.
