S.S.A.C. Navigators 14 May 2006
Diving Mother’s Day and watching Sea Hunt movies has to be the best. Puzzlemania – I’m still at a loss as to how to solve most of them!! We all made it here from Sydney though with some of the navigation skills in the group it’s surprising, sand is the new rock. Sharks, sea dragons, roast lamb and pegs, we’ve had it all this weekend. Sea Hunt episodes 1-4, Lloyd saves the day and rescues the ladies, a bit like NicK!!! Navigation proved a challenge for this weekend, a few sand visits – Ben, left turn next time! Grey nurse sharks were the highlight for me as well as huge rays! Thanks for Ben and Steve for their dive leader guidance – now I am a qualified Ocean Diver! (Ashley) Thanks Mick, Lyn, Rob, Cary and mad Harriet for a great time! Made it to the dizzy heights of Ocean Diver thanks to Sean! Think some of the others (Nick, Tash & Martine) should avoid following a navigationally challenged ocean diver on her first attempt at dive leading! Next time we’ll all rely on Sean. Life cant get much better with the introduction of two new loves in my life….Sea (how have I lived without you) Hunt and Russian cocaine oh and the diving wasn’t to bad either, even if it was a bit sandy in places!!!!! Tip top The moving entry to the ride of the valkyres has to be the highlight for me – and then following Sean and overshooting the boat by about a mile – not cool! My first weekend on a live aboard, and first dives with hubby as buddy, all in all very memorable. Roast Lamb was divine – complements to the chef. Lovely warm water, good viz and more weedies than you could shake a stick at. Bull rays, grey nurse sharks impressive. A good laugh at the navigation skills demonstrated, and the DVD action. It’s all good. See you again, from Mike Nelson. What an excellent weekend: started off with a great meal on the Friday evening, followed by lovely sunny weather on the Saturday which made for some great dives with the sharks. The night dive was a real highlight with more rays than you can shake a stick at (honest!). Big thanks to all the crew for making everything run without a hitch. The usual friendly and efficient welcome from the crew of Ocean Trek. A good weekend had by all. Some great weather and good viz. Thanks, Gary W Beautiful surroundings, excellent hospitality and companionship. Pity I couldn’t take advantage of the diving but I did manage to do the last dive which was something. Hopefully I will return again to see what I missed out on this time. Tweety and teddy had a great time to. Teddy now wants fins & mask Tweety said he only needs a mask as his feet are big enough – Patsy What a great weekend!! The diving was great ( although the night dive was scary!) I’ve never seen so many weedy sea-dragons!– the crew were excellent and yummy grub too. Next time I’m going to finish all those puzzles without cheating! Thanks to everyone on Ocean Trek, Jo Mitchell
